I remember a few people here were looking for this gem so here you are.... and the quality, I got this almost unplayed lp, in great condition, and a friend of mine digitalized it. It's almost CD quality, 320 K with a little touch of vinyl!

Thanks, Daniel. I've only got the singles from them. It's nice to hear that CBS selected them so incredibly well... NOT. The title track and "Great Divide" -- now those would've been great singles.

Thanks for posting this somebodysomewhere. Does anyone have idea why Drowning By The Hour was left out of the LP? [:D] was that the manic norm to not include the best song?

For the same reason that CBS picked the weakest song that did make the album ("Soul Separation") to be one of the singles? If there was any hope of success, they sure killed it with that.

The only reason I remembered the lead singer's name is because it's my mother's maiden name, and I have a cousin on that side of the family also named John Innes (not that I really know him). That, and I usually remember lead singer's names -- just not anybody else's!

"Immagnetized" appears on a 1984 CBS UK sampler album. Not that I'm going to buy it, but maybe there'll be on a bio on that? Worth a shot. Or maybe one of them will see their names in Google, realize that they have fans, and stop in to tell us what they're up to.

Looked up the band names in ASCAP and BMI. Surprisingly they are in BMI. PRS (UK) affiliations of course -- except for an APRA (usually Australian) affiliation for an "Eric Stanley Jupp." There is no Alan Morrison listed. Either Alan didn't do any of the songwriting or they replaced guitarists. I don't have my singles handy right now so I can't check the songwriting credits printed on them although I'm sure one of you can.

Thanks to one of his non-Dekka Danse credits, I managed to find a page for Eric Jupp. Poor guy's dead. It confirms he moved from England to Australia. Based on his what his age would have been in 1984, I'm assuming he was Dekka Danse's producer. A 60-year-old guitarist? Yeah I don't think so. I'm sure you can find that on the vinyl as well.

Okay, wait, so Phil McGee and Dale Moore were part of a Liverpool band called Scary Monsters. Who?

Wait, wait, hold up.... hold on. 1995 punk 7" record by a band called Clockwork Dogs - "Soapbox Junkie." So I guess that's the band. Clockwork Dogs. Well, who the fuck are they? Jonathan Barrack Smith, who the fuck is your other band?

I think we're halfway there. Google all the different names and I bet we can light this candle. From the looks of things, Dekka Danse was probably from somewhere in Northern England. Possibly Liverpool or Manchester.
