Buffalochipz!
A pleasure to receive 4 surprise mixes from you when I got home from work today - looks like an excellent selection of tunes. Many, thanks, I'll have a package out to you sometime next week.

Also, I'm ashamed to not have mentioned egg-roger's surprise shipment from last week . Despite your "no reciprocation necessary" email, I'll gladly be sending off a couple of mixes your way soon.

Anyone else want to trade? It's supposed to be a crappy, rainy weekend, so I'll have time to burn a few CDs.

Hey gang, I am just inching my way through the most recent set of great disks that everyone sent, so apologies in advance if I haven't commented much. The appreciation is definately there. But now I've also lost of the sleeves. Who sent me that incredible mix with Sylvain Sylvain, Boomtown Rats, Human Sexual Response, Original Mirrors, John Ruth, Jona Lewie, etc, etc?! That was awesome - big thanks! It has a Randy feel (that's member "Randy", not "randy" in the Austin Powers sense). If it's not Randy, someone doing an incredible impersonation.

Got it! I just needed to be pointed in the right direction to know which stack of disks in my slovenly office I needed to dig up. Thanks again dude!

Just recieved Schwenko's disc of MP3's, and I must say it is impressive. Over 11 hours of music, with many rare 12" remixes! I converted all the tracks to AIFF files in I-Tunes, and burned them to CD's, and I now have ten incredible discs of music to enjoy! (I don't have an MP3 player) I am just wallowing in it right now! Mr Schwenko, you now have a place in my Hall Of Fame, alongside Buffalochipz, Randy, Manekineko, and <Otters walk among us. Thank you sir!!!

medication:
I'm sorry if I didn't thank you sooner for the lovely APB disc. I quite enjoy it...it's more guitar-based than i thought it would be, but anyway I like it. I'll give more of a detailed review in a later post.

devildog:
also sorry here if I didn't tell you that i received your disc w/ Factual, Crown of Thorns, & Men Without Hats EPs. I LOVE it! the Factual material blows me away...right up my alley with lots of synths, breezy singing, the works. And to hear that Crown of Thorns tuff after 20+ years was....nirvana! I still knew all the words and guitar riffs. Although hearing it now, it rather sounds goth-like, to me.
Anyway, thanks guys--I owe ya! I love these ![:)]

Here is more feedback on the CDs that I’ve received in the mix exchange. I’m still digging my way out of the avalanche of disks that everybody sent me. (I got about 25 disks--whew, thatsa lotta great tunage!) Thanks to everyone!

Marvymarv: I love your mix of familiar new wave classics—you’ve included many of my favorites, like Let Me Go, It’s My Life, and There Is A Light That Never Goes Out. Your mix also contains a couple tunes that are new to me, by Red Box and It’s Immaterial (sounding very much like The The). I was grooving to the entire mix [:D]. Thanks!

Tastyorange: What great chill out CDs! I love trip-hop/trance/electronica, and you’ve turned me on to a lot of artists that I haven’t heard of before. On Disk 1 I especially like the songs by Angela McCluskey, Flunk, Dust Devils (is that the name of the song or the artist?), Phobus, Royksopp, and Time Passing (love the Middle Eastern rhythm). On Disk 2 I really like the songs by Blue States, Cujo, Benny Benassi, Dot Allison, Flunk, Juno Reactor, Plaid, and Royksopp (cool ending [8D]). Your CDs will be great when I want to kick back with a beverage and chill out. Thank you so much.

Devildog: Against the Grain I & II are fantastic! I recognize a few songs, but there are so many gems that I don’t recognize. And you’ve managed to include one of my all time favorite songs, Love Like Blood!!!!! (I always get so excited whenever I hear that song-[:p]) On the first disk I especially like the songs by Department S, Crown of Thorns, Factual, and Miro Miroe.

On the second disk I really like the songs by Hilly Michaels, The Room, Cee Farrow, The Tan, Lou Miami & The Kozmetix (sounding a lot like The Damned), and Heavenly Bodies. The song by Jim Carroll includes one of my favorite lines: “I’m here to give you my heart and you want some fashion show!”. Well done, devildog!

And to those of you whose CDs I still haven't reviewed, thanks so much for being patient with me. These compilations are so fabulous and well thought out, I want to give them the time and attention that they deserve! [:D][:D][:D]

Medication--I sent you a disc just the other day and that was before you put me in the Hall Of Fame--twice.[:D] Your latest disc was great-The Famous, The Bravery , British Sea Power, Gray Does Matter , Color Wall--lots of great stuff new to me. I welcome the new stuff as I do not own much of it-although I have been picking things up lately based on what you folks have sent me.

Someone also e-mailed me and I deleted it by mistake before seeing who it was from. It asked if I could mention what songs off my cds are from what era. All my songs are from the era we love-from about 75 to 94.
