Randy-- Thanks man! I go through alot of the cd's in the music library at KDHX, so I get to hear alot of new stuff that I wouldn't otherwise, such as British Sea Power, who just have a great new album out. I was also totally into Franz Ferdinand before most people even knew who they were. I love it! It's cool how many of these new bands hae embraced the new wave sound...kinda makes all of us look reaaaly smart, does it not? [8D]

Schwenko, I can't say it enough: the music you sent me is just unbelievable! It's going to take me a couple of weeks to wade through it all, but from what I've heard so far, every single track is a winner! The best part is that I haven't heard of 90% of the acts on there...truly a job well done compiling that, and I am still in your debt. Expect some more discs soon! [:D]

Fantastic! Favorites include Original Mirrors, Xymox, Wazmo Nariz, The Dickies, Jook, Hawaiian Pups, Scotch, Baltimora, The Nits (LOVE THEM!!), Mondo Rock, Laughing Dogs, and Mood Six. Really a fine collection, Thank You!

The first person I traded with, so a very special thanks to you..

Ummm, yeah...how about EVERY SINGLE FRICKIN' SONG??? [:D]
But especially The Tubes, Lucy Show, Virgin Prunes, Menthol, Yum Yum, and the "I don't cares".

Shoes, Pulsars, that dog(a near-perfect pop gem), Wondermints, and Utopia are my favorites, but again the whole disc is killer!

Maybe my favorite out of all of them, with not a bad track on there...special props for featuring not one, but TWO songs by the Flowers...you are the man.
Thanks also for the discs from other NWO members that you copied and sent to me...The one from [b]Scramjet[/b], <MyIrwin's[/b] New Wave Godfathers, and [b]Natephish's[/b] disc. All are just wonderful.

Bowiestation--Thanks for your latest two discs. Great stuff...faves include 45 Grave, Lords of the New Church, Pandoras, Polyrock and "Psycho Chicken" (HA!) I've heard this once before but had totally forgotten about it. Maybe it was on Dr. Demento back in the day. I have to know what song has those Speed Racer samples on it....it wasn't listed. (Track three after the Only Ones-Language Problem)

Schwenko--What can I say? Your orgy of new wave MP3s was overwhelmingly wonderful. It was a great week at work listening to it all. Faves include: too many to mention. This disc also made me realize just how painfully ignorant I am about large chunks of the new wave genre. Thanks for schooling me.

Randy--The quality of your No Rhyme No Reason discs are sky high and volumes 6 through 9 are no exception. Faves: SSQ, Fabulous Poodles, Ceramic Hello, Waterboys, Comateens and all the hopelessly obscure power pop you sprinkled throughout. Especially LOVE the Sgt. Arms "Walking on the Roof." Keep trading please.

Marvymarv--Excellent mix of the best new wave has to offer. Almost all of these songs bring back specific memories for me as well....especially AFOS "Wishing" and Level 42 "Something About You" but we won't go there right now. This disc will definitely be making the 12 hour drive to the Adirondacks with us next month cuz I know my wife will love it too.

Egg-Roger--There's something wonderfully eclectic about an Egg-Roger mix. I love how you throw in a little Todd Rundgren (one of my favorite Todd songs), a dash of Lindsay Buckingham (have you heard anything else off this album? Just wondering how it compares. I've always loved this song as well as his Go Insane album), Neon Philharmonic(!) I love it all....especially Sun & The Moon (as good as the Chameleons....I gotta track down more of this) Buggles, This Picture, Juluka and many more. Hadn't heard the Bowie/Metheny song since watching the video on MTV. Excellent! Keep me in mind if you ever make "Moe" mixes.

XTC-1957--Wow! Your discs are like a post-punk wet dream. XTC, Wire, Jam, Clash, Pylon, Lene Lovich. Awesome. Disc 1 was given the honor of "First CD Of The 2005 Warm-Weather-Put-The-Windows-Down-And-Crank-To-11 driving season." Well done. I think the blonde in the black and white Mini Cooper at the intersection of Riverside and Wright Brothers Parkway was diggin' it too ("Dancing The Night Away" was forced upon her.)

Borneojimy--Fantastic collection of obscurities (at least they were to me.) I'm not positive but is there a Los Angeles tilt to your track selection? I'm just talking out my ass since I've never heard of half these bands (that is a good thing.) Faves: Geza X (I thought he was only a producer) Rezillos, Effigies, Shock, Rubber City Rebels and many more. A great selection of the unknown underbelly of punk.

Devildog--Your CDs are like a great meal......one delicious track after another. New Math, Fiat Lux, Crown of Thorns, Slow Children, Ice The Falling Rain (GREAT song! How were they not more popular?) The Fountainhead and others. Please.Make.More.

Medication881--Fantastic!....your best mixes yet. Assemblage 23 (sounds vintage 80s. Is it?) New Pornographers (new album soon!) Rosenbergs ("Crockett & Tubbs" kicks ass) Horizontal Brian, many others but best of all is Blanket Of Secrecy. Oh my God what an awesome tune! Are they new or old? I can't tell. I'll be sending you four more discs soon.

I.M. He--Great artwork, great song selection! I was familiar with most of the artists but you did a good job picking lesser known tunes. Is the Platinum Blonde track pretty representative of their sound? I've only heard one other song (on CFNY) plus the one you included. Do you have a recommendation for one of their albums? The remix CD was great too. I didn't suffer at all despite Andy Partridge's warning! Especially liked Killing Joke, Cocteau Twins and Kate Bush (who can do no wrong.)

Phillyidol--Super mixes. I was kinda worried when I saw Type-O Negative included because I thought they were some kinda Ozzfest band (maybe they are) but "Christian Woman" blew me away. The Joan Armatrading, Let's Active and Electronic songs are some of my favorites. Thank You!

Waukena--I really enjoyed how you mixed the familiar with the lesser known. Agent Orange, the Adverts and Yello were great. And as annoying as I find Sinead O'Connor her "Lion and the Cobra" was a monumental debut album. Jerusalem still reminds me of eating pepper steak at a girlfriend's house during freshman year of college cuz that's when I first heard it.

Tastyorange--All but a couple artists are new to me but I liked a majority of them especially Royksopp, Juno Reactor and the song with Dean Wareham on it. This will make for good driving music. thanks!

Quick note--had about 8 hours of yard/fence work to do the other day. Took Blir's top 100 pre mtv and marvymarv's greatest--put them on random and let it go--made the yard work much more tolerable!! Great sets of music guys!!!!

Record heat in the Valley Of The Sun. Fortunately, I had Blir's 'Alt Indie 2000's' MP3 disc blasting some very cooool tunes. Great stuff!

Egg! So glad you got a chance to settle in with it. I really should have made it a 2-CD comp with more bands but fewer songs off each. Buy hey, who among has ever been completely satisfied with a bix!

BTW, finally had time to really give a good listen to your disks. The Escher-like "E" disk was lots of fun, but "Just Say Moe" blew me away. Just who the heck are the Rave Ups and This Picture. They are great!!! Do they have other material like this?! I can't imagine. And also Sun and the Moon - I vaguely knew of their Chameleons roots but never investigated. Is it all this good???

PS. You now have no excuse not to play the Next Wave NTT! [:D]

I've just received a hand-written thank-you note in a self-addressed stamped envelope in consideration of a disk that I sent her. A measely little disk! In this digital age, can you imagine the monumental effort that it took to interact with the physical world and get a card, write it out, insert/seal/address/stamp it, then send it off into the mysterious world of snail mail?! It's really quite wondrous - I don't know what they'll think of next.
