These guys are reminiscent of The Jam without being derivative.

I like it! Now I'm worried though that everyone's going too retro. What's next that's gonna be completely original??

I think the '80s are coming back, musically, fashion wise, etc. Bands are performing and recording cover versions of our fave bands!

I'm fine with people reinventing the 80s, especially if they put their own spin on it.

Talk about carrying the torch, these guys are offering a free download of their cover of The Jam's "Eton Rifles" if you sign up on their website. Paul Weller even stopped banging 20 year olds long enough to sing along on the song!

"Alright everyone??

So we're well rested after what ended up being a rather cultural European Tour - but we're getting itchy feet so are thinking about crossing the Atlantic Ocean and conquering America.

We're gonna release the album, Great Escape, over there in the Summer - and will be announcing our US Tour dates soon..!

You lot can help with the initial stages of the take over by clicking HERE:

http://www.mtvu.com/music/the-freshmen/nominees-051809/

and voting for our video on MTV U. And the useful thing is - you can vote as many times as you like *wink wink*....

Thanks again to everyone who's come to see us over the past few months, you guys never cease to impress us with your enthusiasm, and good looks.

Love,

The Rifles"

The Rifles get happy on their latest release. I'm kinda bummed they got all Sgt. Pepper here. Damn.
