that would be tacky, wouldn't it, listing your own song on your ten best list? the fact that they asked Debbie for a list and none of the others listed ever even appear in Rolling Stone, indicates that she towers over them, doesn't it?

as a long time subscriber, the magazine has deteriorated so much over the last few years my opinions are likely a bit harsh but I thought for the most part, these playlists were a huge waste of ink.
A few, like this one, mildly interested me but c'mon, who really gives a crap? Am I being an Old Grunpy Guy?

in the modern marketplace, there's really not that much to talk about once you get past GaGa and Adam Glambert(and I love them both), so the result is that everything old is nude again....
I'm just excited to see the names Johnny Thunders & the Heartbreakers and Jayne County appearing in Rolling Stone's holiday issue, launching thousands of potential google searchs and new fans...

we could only hope but judging by the typical article (Tom Petty, Beatles, Dylan,John Lennon, Bruce, Beatles, Bruce...), I'm guessing no one under 45 even picks it up anymore and nobody under 25 knows what a magazine is.

well, even so, those 45 year olds were never exposed to such as Johnny Thunders and Jayne County in the first place(especially Jayne, as RS editor Jann Wenner was hiding in the closet during the heyday of County and Thunders,and he hid behind California earth shoe rock at the time),so Jayne and Johnny,neither of whom were ever featured in RS, will be brand new discoveries to the Geritol swigging subscribers, who will use their walkers to get over to the computer and find out who everyone is...)
