Friends of the Maid - S/T: Brilliant synthpop that covers a range of styles.'My Love for you is Gone' is one of the best synth tracks heard in recent times and would be a hit on a major label. 9/10

Salford Jets - Gina EP - Absolutely wretched punk, a dumb version of Sham 69 (if that's not an tautology) with novelty song catchiness 3.5/10

Sons of Monkeys - Me and Mr.Susuki - Interesting, VERY interesting 8.5/10

Cunning Toy - Searching - Depeche Mode clone 3/10

The Waltons - Collection - Post-punk pop from Isle of Wight. Brown Rice the best but fun band and must have been brilliant live 6.5/10

Elegant Unease - Innervisions - Has it moments, boring synthpop 4/10

Synthetic Romance: Area compilation from Tamworth?? As usual with these it's a mixed bag. Best tracks - Johnny Dee - Stargaze, Motifs - Camera. 6/10
