"True" - Spandau Ballet. God, how I HATE this song. And it always seems to find me, playing on an endless loop wherever I am.

"Tempted" - Squeeze. I never was.

"Love Shack" - B-52's. Actually about an out-house you can use to puke in after listening to the song.

"She Blinded Me With Science" - Thoams Dolby. I would like to blind Thomas Dolby with a hat pin.

"Whip It" - Devo. Still LOVE it, just don't need to hear it so damn often. And please, STOP with those damn Swiffer ads.

Visage - fade to grey - i've bought as many 12" mixes on cd and this track is on nearly every one

p.s why even mention spandau ballet's true?? they ditched any new romatic/wave link after 'diamond' going for the soppy mass market, to include true you may as well include houlio iglesias or lena martell

Oh Please...

Do we really have a catalog that's so vast that we are complaining that when we actually get to hear a NW song in PUBLIC we think oh this is so overplayed!

Enjoy your favs but appreciate that it even gets played!

I NEVER TIRE OF ANY OF THESE OVERPLAYED SONGS!

NEW WAVE 4 LIFE!

[:o)]

I'm being silly. But seriously, these songs were the POP HITS of the 80s, of course they were overplayed. :)

You people nailed them all.We recently got an all 80,s radio station(they claim) and I hear most of these you listed all the time ,but there is one that drives me nuts cause I hear it every friggin day.I love RocknRoll by Joan Jett, sad thing is hardly anybody knows it,s not their own song and I used to like it.

This compilation neatly sums up 90% of this question:

http://www.amazon.co.uk/exec/obidos/ASI ... 78-6603652

To fill in the blanks:

Depeche Mode - Just Can't Get Enough
Tears For Fears - Shout
Frankie Goes to Hollywood - Relax
Blondie - Maria

About the Blondie track - I know it's not strictly new wave, but when it was riding high in the charts here, it was played once an hour every day for six weeks and a song I used to like I now HATE! [:(]
