"The American Edit" is a shortened version of the Salieri Mix. It comes in 12" and 7" versions. The "extended" version (about 5:53, still quite a bit shorter than the original 8:21 Salieri Mix) is on many compilations. The ~3:10 edit is more difficult to find on CD.
Here's a copy definitely obtained from CD, but I couldn't tell you which one:
http://www.solidfiles.com/d/deae524f27/ ... ng%5D.flacOverall it sounds very good, but it has a few little pops in it that make it sound like vinyl. Static? Ripping errors? Or the rip could be fine and the pops are mastered onto the CD due to defects on the glass master or bad transfers. CD is not always better, just different

You might notice it runs 3:18. The ones that are shorter are exactly the same, but the master tape is playing faster. I'm pretty sure this was intentional. It's something they'll do for 7" versions I think so the radio stations can squeeze in 6 more seconds of advertising!
