SHARE: Sparks - Introducing Sparks outtakes

Here's an interesting find. I came into contact with someone who had found a copy of an early master tape of the 1977 album by Sparks titled 'Introducing Sparks'. This is interesting for a number of reasons: First, the CD re-releases of Introducing Sparks have all been mastered from vinyl so this is the first full length master tape version I've heard. Second, it is an early mix of the album and some sounds are either not yet in the mix or mixed differently. Third, it was a quad master tape, meaning it was in four channels instead of two. Fourth, it had a slightly different track listing.... containing the previously unheard studio session outtakes of the songs 'Kidnap' and 'Keep Me'. Though 'Kidnap' appeared in a demo form on a Japanese reissue several years ago, the fully produced studio version has been lost to time since 1977. Three of the songs from the final album were not on the 8 song master tape, and one can assume this was an early version intended for release, though rejected.

The file I am sharing contains both of the studio outtakes. Personally, I think 'Kidnap' is a load of zany fun but I guess a lot of people hate it. I also think 'Keep Me' is very boring, though it was nice to finally hear it. AND LAST, since I had access to all four channels of this quad tape, I decided to do a little Rubellan Remix of the quirky album track 'Occupation'. It was interesting to hear this semi-multitrack tape, and how the songs sound when separated. Though I couldn't do a full multitrack remix, I did have enough to doodle with. I hope some of you can enjoy this little surprise package:

PS you say the album is an early mix, did you have those mixes as well?
