SHARE: Berlin Blondes (Remastered) FLAC

Postby Rubellan » Thu Jul 17, 2014 2:31 pm

For years I had hoped to find an alternate pressing of the classic 1980 LP by Berlin Blondes. And FINALLY, I found a Portuguese pressing (actually, 3 copies and I bought them all, though inadvertently destroyed one). And just as I had hoped, it was a much better pressing than the lousy UK pressing, which had a generally rough and distorted sound. The Portuguese pressing is very clean and clear with considerably less distortion, so I remastered the album from scratch. Here it is. Boy, what I wouldn't give to have a lyric sheet for this album...

Love it as well. Sounds like The Mood (remember them..) a little bit. Excellent quality. Are there any 12" mixes as well?

Excellent - I really like this album a lot and have copied it from vinyl myself in the past as a makeshift solution, as it seems unlikely it'll see a CD release anytime soon, but this is the business - thanks very much.

Here are the additional tracks, all remastered previously. The only track not included is the single A side 'Marseille'. I don't currently have a remaster of it because I don't like the song. But the B side 'The Poet' is included. Plus, I finally got around to remastering the awesome instrumental song titled 'Manikin'. This is the B side of the 'Science' single, and contains the drums from 'Science' running through the background in slow motion. A very different version to the LP vocal version.

Not sure if I ever mentioned it here, but I love scary movies about killer dolls and the like, at least when they are done well (like the movie Dead Silence). The idea of mannequins coming to life and seeking out victim's is a stunning idea, though the closest I've seen is the 70's film Tourist Trap. I would love to see a murderous mannequin movie that opens with the instrumental Manikin during the credits (as images of mannequin limbs soar across the screen), then uses the LP version of Mannequin as the closing credits. Now that would be awesome.

Rubellan, I'm very happy to have these rips! You're the master and a very generous person! I really appreciate your efforts, thank you very much! :D

Must confess it took me quite a bit of time to "get" BB as I wasn't used to music and especially vocals like that but now I quite like them, they have something... interesting to them. One of their members went on to play in Endgames - what a change of direction!

I once corresponded briefly with their producer Mike Thorne - but sadly he had little to say about them as he didn't particularly remember their collaboration...

Oh well, for completion I post that "Marseilles" track - though I took it from the bootleg CD I once bought so it may very well be an mp3 upconvert (I'm unfortunately have no way to tell) so proceed with caution!

Oh yes, if anybody have a lossless rip of Framework 7" to complete the collection here, that'd be ace! :)
