A band named "Instructions"

Postby Sundayguy » Wed Nov 16, 2005 12:11 pm

Hey out there,

I had a cassette tape of this weird band a long time ago...haven't been able to track anything down by them, since.
Not sure but they may be Canadian (??)

Anything by them welcome, especially from the self-titled, possibly their ONLY album. The song "Wicked Heart" stands out most in my mind.

Thanks all!

I have that album. "You Learn from Computers" is the best track ever. Very Gary Numan-ish.

Sadly, I think side B on my copy is un-rippable.

It's on my list of to-rip.

British,

Yeah! That's them. I do remember the "Computers" track...and something that had to do with Deer? Anyhow, if you get any of it ripped, even a song or two, please keep me in mind, as I'd really like a copy!
Interesting Numan reference, by the way...I'm a huge Numan fan from way back. Lots of his to trade, etc.

I have 12 days coming off after today, so hopefully I should have time to get some vinyl rips started. I will put Instructions and Wazmo Nariz's side B at the top of the list.

Just heard one of the tracks "Cleek" and would love to hear the rest of this illusive release.

Hey xymox970,

Wow, this was/is a really old old post! I think this album is now available on Itunes, though
because I don't use Itunes I can't say, for sure.

If you just want to hear more, there are a couple videos on Youtube, each vid has 4 songs
if memory serves. That should at least give you more to listen to. Cheers! :D

Kind of odd that you came across "Cleek" rather than maybe "Wicked Heart" or some other track, first.

Yes, I guess it is.....but my favourite internet radio station just keeps pulling out those long forgotten and hidden gems - often found in the shape of album tracks, rather than singles.....

I dont like to plug, but since you`ve asked..... :D

The vinyl is damn cheap on Discogs. You can get a near-mint copy for $1 + $4.50 shipping. (check the items for sale under the US version)

I don't think the radio is related to the new wave uploader on the piratebay "80zforever". I think he has a case to go after this radio station
