I didn't know until recently that the versions of "Computer Love" on the 7" and 12" singles are unique mixes! The arrangements are the same as the album version but the percussion, effects and some of the synth sounds are definitely very different. I haven't been able to find any info on why this is. Is it a mix they did after the album was released? Does it pre-date the album version? Either way, in my opinion, this version is much cleaner and just sounds more "finished". The 7" edit is simply an early fade of the full-length 12" version.

As luck would have it, just as I was discovering this, DJPaulT posted his own, absolutely pristine, vinyl rip of the USA 12" Promo of "Numbers" b/w "Computer Love" on his Burning The Ground blog ( http://burningtheground.net/category/kraftwerk/ )! So I used his audio (in FLAC format) and re-created the 7" Edit. Thanks to Paul for sharing the track and doing such an AMAZING job on his vinyl transfer. It's so clean you can eat off of it!!! ;-) I titled the track "7" Remix Edit" to distinguish it as unique from the original mix.
