Here's Johnny is a band I've recently come across, but I've quickly fallen in love. The band released 4 singles on RCA records between 1985 and 1986, and ALL of them are great. The frontman is Colin McKay who wrote the songs. An album was recorded but unfortunately was shelved. I'd love any more information on this band, if you've got it. Their tunes are really strong. My favorite is probably "Love You To Death" which I've put on youtube...

I really feel like both Hellzapoppin' and Love You To Death should've been huge hits. Even their b-sides are good. Check out "Absence Of Malice" from the Hellzapoppin 12"

They've only got one video on Youtube, but considering these singles were put out in '85 and '86, and they were on a major label, it's likely others were shot. I wonder if anyone has or has seen any of them. The one video they've got online is sort of atypical of their sound. They go for a big band style on this song. It's not as New Wave-tastic as their other tracks, but it's a great song in it's own right and a fantastic video. Check it out here:

Excellent, I wanted to hear more of them after I found their Idlewild video some time ago. Thanks for sharing all of their songs, I was expecting them to be in the same swing revival vein as Idlewild, but instead they are a more standard New Wave/Synthpop band, which I liked even more. The extended version of Hellzapoppin is pretty great.
