It was 80s day today at the school where I teach. I couldn't resist dressing up for my favorite decade. Cheesy, but brilliantly and unexpectedly fun.
It's my school's 40th year, and today we teachers put on an Assembly showing the school thru the decades. We put on skits, parodied athletes, ROTC, nerds, cheerleaders, etc. The kids absolutely LOVED it. I coordinated the "Fashion Show"--showing styles thru the decades. So we had teachers in 60s Jackie-O and also tie-dye; teachers wearing 70s disco bellbottoms; teachers wearing 80s preppy and Flashdance-era clothes ( I was the only one wearing "new wave"); and teachers wearing 90s style grunge ala knit caps. It really was fun[8D]
P.s. I got to select the music highlighting each decade. 80's: "I Ran", "Blue Monday", and "Billie Jean" (I had to pick something the kids would all know!
