34, still feeling like the teenager I was back in the eighties. Doing exactly what I always wanted to do. Graphic design for a living, playing music all the while [;)]

I have to say though, that my musical tastes have broadened a GREAT deal since then. New Wave is still my life defining genre but I have come to learn to appreciate many other genres of music as well. Back then I would have laughed in your face (if not be thoroughly insulted) if you told me I'd have the likes of Chet Baker, Hank Williams, Barry White or Shirley Bassey in my collection. But open mindedness is a way of life for me and if I want people to be open to my music then I have to be to theirs. And you know what? It's fun to listen to new music.[8D]

I'm 31. I remember the music vividly (as I ALWAYS had a radio nearby and believe it or not religiously watched MTV when I wasn't at skool), but alas could not enjoy it in a club setting. While I don't wish to be older, I am jealous of hearing the stories of clubbing back in the day.

Being 42 going on 43, my appreciation of music dates back to the mid to late 60's when The Beatles and Top 40 AM radio reigned.
I then cut my musical teeth on mid to late '70's FM & AOR with a smattering of Top 40 & Disco.
It was then when I began my lifelong music collecting pursuit in earnest (via those big & small grooved black plastic thingies)
HOWEVER, it was the '80's when my musical sensibilities were forever and indelibly shaped by the NW genre and cultural phenomenon.
There is something transcendental about New Wave, guess it has something to do with the convergence of so many different musical genres.
If you sample a cross section of 80's NW, you will hear elements of almost every existing global musical influence, from Tribal, Classic to Rockabilly and Hip Hop.
It blended those musical ingredients and from it emerged a uniquely synthesized genre of music. Thanks to that experience, my tastes have further matured to encompass Classical, Traditional,Contemporary Jazz/Chill as well as various shades of House & Techno.
While shunning most of what contemporary terrestrial corporazzi radio has to offer (except for Public & Liberal Talk Radio), I now embrace the digital broadcast and recording mediums where I can get my daily commercial free musical fix.

I'm 29. I wish i was born 15 years earlier to fully enjoy the 80s as a free-wheeling adult. But noooo..

I am 33, but have been into new wave since I was a kid in the late 70s, thanks to my cool teenage babysitter's brother's cutting edge taste in music. I remember all of us listening to Blondie, Devo, B-52s, etc. for hours. I got more into the fashion when I was 11 or so, and into the club scene at 16(clubs that didn't serve alchohol). I went to gigs from the time I was around 13. New wave wasn't exactly mainstream in the SoCal city I grew up in, but was somewhat popular due to KROQ being one of the most listened to radio stations locally.
