the "great" NW artists you couldn't get into

Postby KYYX4ever » Sun May 08, 2005 7:57 am

I think we have had this topic before, but I can't find it Search. Plus, we have so many new faces around here, I thought I'd ask:

So, you see the fave NW artists on everybody's lists...others revere them...the Big Guns, the Big Kahuna(s)....dare I say, the GODS of NW....all you can say is that you never saw what all the fuss was about. Who never grabbed you? Which do you dislike ? This should be an interesting list.[}:)]

me? Erasure never did it for me.

That's at the top of my list too. I harbor no ill feeelings toward them, but they just do nothing for me.

There are lots that I didn't like and a few that I REALLY despised:

B-52's
New Order
Heaven 17
Thomas Dolby
Depeche Mode
Smiths

I know, I know! How dare I! Sorry, but these guys just didn't do much for me. But, I'm quite sure someone is gonna come along and post a few of my faves.

I honestly can't single out a particular 'Big Gun' NW group. Of course, they all had their share of clunkers but overall, not enough to deep six my appreciation of the artist.
NOW if you're talkin lesser known bands, Do I Have Some Choice Picks 4U!

OK.. OK, Got One: Kraftwerk (never got past 'Numbers' and 'Tour De France')

I agree with you, 2NU. I find myself more into songs than bands and even the bands I try to dislike (like Duran Duran) have some excellent songs - I just ignore the ones I don't like.

If someone wants to start a "NW songs you couldn't get into" then I'll go off on a rant. But until there, all is good with the NW world.
