Rare DM mix of "But Not Tonight" for sale on Juno??

I'm on my lunch break and decided to browse junodownload.com to pass time and came across the "Modern Girls" soundtrack from 1986 which features the Robert Margouleff mix of "But Not Tonight"! It's slightly longer than the USA 7" version (I have the original vinyl LP). What's cool about this is you can buy the tracks from this album in full quality AIFF or WAV! I will check into this further when I get home. If it's not a vinyl rip then this is pretty cool for DM fans of this song and specifically of this mix that otherwise has never been released on CD!

Hmmm I did just notice the time on Juno is 4:14 where the LP is 4:27 so maybe it's too good to be true??

Finally got to listen to the sample on Junodownload and it's the original version, not the Robert Margouleff remix. Bummer

Fred, when I listen to the 4:18 version on the remastered Black Celebration release, it's the same (as the video/single release you posted awhile back, thank you), except for the ending is cut off? What do you think of this remaster? I like it, just depends on the DAC and system I am listening to it on.
How does the original version differ from the "Remix", the emphasis?, the ending???? To be honest, I haven't heard any different version in the 4 minute length. Just the 6:17 US extended version.

According to the Discogs entry this is an official digital release from Rhino & Warner Bros. I found it on Spotify if you want to listen before buying. I searched for "Modern Girls orig" and the release came up.

The original version that has been featured on all "Black Celebration" CD releases including the remaster basically just sounds flat and muffled with no real definition or dynamic other than the vocal. I think when DM did it they weren't very invested in it and didn't bother to spend much time mixing it properly. When Sire Records in the USA decided it would be a good single, they probably felt the mix was inferior and commissioned Margouleff to do a more conventional sounding, dynamic mix. The 3 US remixes by Robert Margouleff (7" (3:57), "Modern Girls" Soundtrack LP (4:26) and Extended Mix (6:18)) have a much more polished sound palette with nice definition in the percussion and various synths and a distinctive, crisp vocal. There is also much less reverb applied in general compared to the original - the reverb on that one tends to dilute the overall mix. Very little is changed in regards to arrangement other than the slightly longer cold ending on the USA LP remix (the 7" version fades out). But if you listen to the original 4:18 version and then the 4:26 USA remix or 3:57 7" remix, there is a stark difference in the sound from top to bottom.

I listened to the sample on Juno again and am 99% sure they used the original mix, NOT the Robert Margouleff mix. I don't use Spotify so I can't make a judgement on that, but I assume they have the same files as Juno.
