There is a club in my area that plays new wave on Thursday nights. A month ago my husband and I went there for the first time. I chatted a bit with the DJ and requested "Love Like Blood". He said, "Sure, I forgot how much I like that song."

Fast forward to last night, our second visit to the club. My husband and I had barely sat down at the bar and ordered drinks when I heard the opening synthesizer in "Love Like Blood". This was too perfect to be merely coincidence. I immediately turned around to look at the DJ and he waved and smiled at me. So I went over to him and he said, "I saw you come in," and we chatted some more. I was so impressed at how he remembered me and my song request from a month ago! Now that is good customer service.

I gave him a nice tip at the end of the evening.

I loved that cd. The cut with the sax was my favorite!

STAAAAAAAAAAR WAAAAAAAAAARS! Nothing but STAAAAR WAAAAAARS. Those wacky star wars! (bill at his best)

Tell me which club in Portland? I'm only 90 minutes from there in New Hampshire. I'd love to check out one of their Thursday nights.

Sorry for the delay in responding. I've been really busy lately. Thanks, philly and Schenko, for the kind words about my Club Noir mix. (Philly, I don't get the star wars reference. Am I a little slow?)

I was playing on 2nu's post about the lounge singer. On snl, Bill Murray did a lounge singer singing STAAAAAR WAAAAARS!

Philly, it went right over my head (although now it rings a bell). Your melodramatic crooning was wasted on me...
