Has anybody seen ads for this new reality show on NBC?
I guess it's supposed to be an American Idol type format except with "has been" artists getting a second shot at stardom.
Amongst the first batch of competitors, A Flock Of Seagulls and The Knack. I hate reality shows and TV in general but I may have to check this out.

I don't have cable so I missed all the band reunions on VH1... there's no way I'll miss this. I just hope it doesn't ruin my "formed favorably in the 80's" opinion of anyone involved.

I haven't seen the ads for this one (yet). I have seen ads for a reality show that will be on CBS this summer, though, when they pick a new lead singer for INXS.

oh good heavens...it's going to be like watching a car accident...weirdly and morbidly fascinating. I'm not sure how I feel about this one (I despise reality shows, never watched one.) But the Seagulls ? Hmmm. lemme think about this one. bpdp3 is right--t

Yes, I think that WolverineSyr has also posted a thread on this, if it's the same show you've mentioned.

He also included a link for more information on the show. [:)]

If it's anything like the British version, it will end up filled with B and C-list acts like Princess, Carol Dekker from T'Pau, Junior and other acts you weren't bothered with at the time and certainly not bothered with now.

EDIT: Here's the link to th

In more New Wave era star news: I just heard The Alarm's "68 Guns" in a Heineken commercial last night. Maybe not in the league of controvery that The Clash hawking Jaguars sparked, but at least these guys are paying their bills too. Go Mike Peters, go.

NBC advertised "Hit Me One More Time" pretty heavily last night during the season finale of "Law & Order: SVU." Other acts I saw on the ad were: Tommy Tutone, The Knack and Vanilla Ice.

Vanilla Ice???!?!?!!!!!! [:0] Right, he'd last more than one show

Yes, Thurs. June 2 at 9 pm eastern time. I guess it's the summer replacement for "The Apprentice."

Here's a link to the info on NBC's site.
