Their (Shoulda been) Greatest Hits.....

Postby NuWaveRx » Sat May 21, 2005 5:15 am

I suspect that all of us have come up with mixes of an artist/group's "greatest hits" (in our opinion, of course). This is made all the more nescessary because, let's face it, a lot of "Best" compilations by NW artists don't exactly follow truth-in-advertising laws. So if it were up to you what FIFTEEN (had to set a limit--this ain't the box set) songs would make the cut in a "best of....."

I'll get the ball rolling with AFOS

1. I Ran (Demo version)
2. Messages
3. D.N.A.
4. Wishing (Extended Mix)
5. What Am I Supposed to Do?
6. Electrics
7. Over the Border
8. Quicksand (Bonus track from Listen)
9. Never Again (The Dancer) (Remix)
10. European (I Wish I was)
11. Remember David
12. Whole Lotta Loving
13. Rainfall
14. Rosenmontag (Bonus track on Listen)
15. Man-Made

First thing I'd make would be a true "best of Japan" comprising ALL their albums.

1. "Transmission"
2. "Suburban Love"
3. "Automatic Gun"
4. "Love Is Infectious"
5. "Sometimes I Feel So Low"
6. "Life In Tokyo (12" Extended)"
7. "European Son (Ext

I love Committed as well. It was real tough limiting my choices to 15. Funny how several of us mentioned b-sides for their AFOS favorites. I guess another thread (if it already hasn't been done here) would be your favorite b-side by an artist.

I'll do The Jam since they get so little play here (like The Clash until recently). But NuWaveRx, can I please have a few extra songs - these are all 2-3 minutes and even 20 barely adds up to 60 minutes:

1 - Away from the Numbers
2 - In The City
3 -

Jam fans, what album (see, I still say album) would you recommend to start? I remember the Jam from the radio and I have a few hits from compilations but I want to grab some of their stuff (and no, I can't seem to get myself on the hub). What should I s

I need to get into the Jam more. All I have is All Mod Cons on LP. Great album.

I haven't seen China Crisis mentioned much here:

1. Red Sails
2. Jean Walks in Fresh Fields
3. Working with Fire and Steel (remix)
4. Here Comes a Raincloud

The Jam are a favorite of mine too. I'd recommend "Setting Sons", it's always been my personal favorite LP of theirs. "All Mod Cons" would be second on my list. Personally, I was never all that fond of "Sound Effects" or "The Gift", although both have som
