Suggestions

I'm new here, so this is my first post. Hi.

So The Cure is one of my favorite bands, I have Boys Don't Cry, Seventeen Seconds, Pornograhy, Kiss Me x 3, Bloodflowers, and the self titled albums. I also have Galore and Staring at The Sea. I've been looking into getting the Faith album. What would you suggest?

I like Joy Division, Depeche Mode, Siouxsie and the Banshees, New Order, and The Smiths a lot as well, but I don't have a proper album from any of those artists. I have some best of's and dowloaded songs though. What are some good albums to get?

I'm interested into getting into The Jam and The Bauhaus. What can you suggest for me to get started, and what other bands do you recommend?

For starters, for the Cure, check out their import "Japanese Whispers" as well as "The Top". It's among their earlier stuff, and I bet you'll like it.

As for Siouxsie: her best album (IMO) is [i]Hyeana[/i]. It's one of thpse albums you can listen to every single song and love them all! It's full of swirly, swooping guitars and Siouxsie's trademark howling. If

For Joy Division, the Heart and Soul box set covers a big chunk of their music, including both LPs. It won't have various outtakes, demos, remixes, some of the Still releases, etc but it's a more comprehensive set than most other bands' given their limite

I would recommend "Faith." If you liked "17 Seconds," you'll enjoy that album.

KYYX mentioned that "Hyaena" is her favorite Siouxsie album. Robert Smith played guitar for her on that album and the "Nocturne" live album, by the way.

One thing you'll soon find out on your own is that there is no "best album" by The Smiths. They're ALL required![:)] Get 'em in this order, though:

I'll chime in for the Jam as well. The Snap! double LP is a great review of their material. Not just greatest hits but b-side favorites as well. The problem is that some of it didn't make it onto the original and most common compilation, Compact Snap! I h

Yeah, Join The Dots is good stuff. I also have Paris and Show, and I've been looking for Concert. I also have Galore and Wild Mood Swings but they kinda suck. I have The Best of DVD as well. And I've seen the Staring at the Sea film

Since you've already got The Cure's "Pornography" & "Bloodflowers", you really must pick up "Disintegration" which is, IMHO, their masterpiece. It's also the middle part of the trilogy that goes with the other two aforementioned Cure albums that you alre

Actually, I already have the Trilogy show, and I have The Best of The Cure DVD. Trilogy is awesome. I like what I hear from Disintegration, but I think I'll put that album on hold. I just picked up the deluxe edition of Faith yesterday, and it's great!
