I keep reading about how they are a new wave band. I have yet to listen to them. Anybody have any thoughts?

I like them a LOT . . . Rolling Stone compared them to Duran Duran but I would put them in the category of Gang of Four-influenced groups angular punk-funk such as Franz Ferdinand . . . with a little extra something. Perhaps it is a touch of early 70's g

I'd say they're pretty cool, don't know about the Duran Duran reference though. They kinda struck me as influenced by the Fall & Gang of Four with vocals that remind me a bit of Robert Smith. Am I way off the mark here? Anyway, haven't heard their new one

Maeup the Breakdown is a great cd , but I would avoid their first self titled cd--thought it was pretty poor.

Yeah the vocals do sound like Robert Smith. I don't know why we get hung up trying to label them as new wave or whatever. They are simply a great band. Check out "Bandages" from 2002's Makeup The Breakdown.
