Not to start a war with any U2 fans (because I am indeed one myself) - but, I always thought Bono had a rather weak voice and vocal range. Still, I am a fan of their earlier stuff and sort of viewed Bono's vocal shortcomings as part of the initial punk aesthetic appeal. I just don't think he is very vocally gifted.

Well, Coteau Twins and Echo &the Bunnymen are really nice voices...
Bob Smith's is a particular one, and also Morrissey's is a nice one.

I'm an early DM/Dave Gahan fan. He seemed to have lost something along the way though. Also Erasure/Andy Bell. That man has range.

Stan Ridgway (Wall of Voodoo)- not technically great voice, but I have never heard as unique a voice as his. Just love to listen to him sing.

Without question Tony Hadley from Spandau Ballet,has the best vocals in New Wave.I've always said that about him from the very beginning,that the man has the best vocals and can carry a tune.

Both Andy McCluskey and Paul Humphreys from OMD had great vocals.
