Best dance move in a video

Postby Dave » Tue May 31, 2005 1:19 pm

Any particularly memorable dance moves from a NW video?

Here are a few to get things going:

Madness - One Step Beyond (Is there a name for that wacky dance? How about the "two-armed bandit choo-choo dance"?)

Billy Idol - Dancing with Myself (the dancing ghouls were kinda cool)

Talking Heads - Once in a Lifetime (David Byrne doing the "arm chop" - an image I can't seem to get out of my head... same as it ever was, same as it ever was)

Fine Young Cannibals - She Drives Me Crazy (chock full of crazy moves, but gotta love those "crazy legged" bookends playing guitar; certainly good enough for the Ministry of Silly Walks; then again, I think they did that move in several of their videos, hmmm??)

Men Without Hats - Safety Dance (well... not sure it should qualify for a "best of" list, but maybe an honorable mention [;)])

I like Jim Kerr's take on New Wave Tai Chi in "Promised You a Miracle".

Any and all of Siouxsie & the Banshee's videos - I love how Siouxsie danced - especially in Spellbound and Wheels on Fire - she out-witches Stevie Nicks![:D]

The English Beat's Save it for Later - the beatnik girl with the swishing wrists dance - abso

I always enjoyed that wacky guy who used to dance in the Howard Jones videos; painted white and draped with chains IIRC.

Does Chevy Chase's baloney dance in Vacation count?

I like the dancing of the New Romantics in Classix Nouveau's "Guilty" and Duran Duran's "Planet Earth".

That crazy-ass spastic dancing of Sinéad O'Connor in "Emperor's New Clothes" was pretty funny.
