Name That Tune Volume 23

Postby fritzb » Sat Jun 04, 2005 4:39 am

Name That Tune Volume 23 (UK Edition)[/b]

Time once again for another edition of the ever popular Name That Tune[/b] game. NTT22 focused on New Wave music of the European continent. This time we have crossed the channel to the UK. All of the artists in this game hail from some part of the UK.

I must say making up this game was really fun. The 80s music scene in the UK was truly bountiful. There were so many great quintessential acts and styles, I couldn't possible touch on them all in just 25 tracks (I sense a UK Edition Part 2 in the future). With that in mind, I tried to put in a diverse mixture of old and new, some well known acts and a few often overlooked bands. While I will hesitate to say this is an easy mix of songs, it should definitely be easier for most of our usual players than the previous game. In any event, I hope everyone enjoys it! [:)]

As usual there are a total of 25 songs clips. As with previous games, all of the tracks are the standard single or album versions, except for the very last song (#25), which is an Extended 12" Mix. The game is on a 100 points basis (2 point for artist, 2 point for title). Partial credit will be given for responses that are "close" to correct. There are 2 seconds of silence between song clips. Download your response form below and email it to me for tabulation when you're finished (my email address is on the form). Make sure to put your forum screen names on your answers, so I know who you are. I will send the Answer Sheet to everyone who sends me their responses (if you don't hear from me within 24 hours, I probably didn't get your email). Don't post your responses here!

Here's the link for the response form (my email address is on it):

The game will end on Thursday June 16 at 4PM EDT[/b]. I know I normally end games on Fridays, but I will be out of town that Friday, so rather than keep everyone in suspense... [;)]

Good Luck! [:)]

I've only received a handful of responses so far. I guess most of you are still holding out for some inspiration. [;)]

For some strange reason I'm in the middle of the pack? I'm sure if the sample size was larger, I'd be sucking dirt.

Game Update[/b]

As I suspected might happen, the list of unidentified songs has been chopped down to just one song (#13) and two others still needs correct song titles (#14, #23). All of the other songs have been correctly identified by at least o

Once again, I waited to long to participate. Fritz, even though my answer sheet will again not get turned in, thanks for putting this together.

That was Madonna in the jello salad, and you wouldn't believe what she was doing with carrots.

I'll be waiting for my gold leaf invitation to your Wild Party.
