The original was written by Australian producer and songwriter duo Harry Vanda & George Young for John Paul Young, who had a huge hit with the song in 1977.

The original was written by Lou Reed for the Velvet Underground album The Velvet Underground & Nico from 1966.

The Style Council - Angel

The original was written by Patrick Mote, Richard Griffen and Sandra Sully. Released as single in 1983 by Anita Baker.

Never Turn Your Back On Mother Earth is a cover from the Sparks, whom released it as a single in 1974. It is also featured on the album Propaganda.

Original written in 1979 by Kiss for the album Dynasty. The single became a huge hit and marked the breakthrough to a worldwide audience .

Original written by Björn Ulvaeus and Benny Andersson of ABBA in 1980 for the album Super Trouper. The track was released as a single in 1981.

Originally written by Sonny Bono, who released it with Cher as a single in 1967. The song is featured on the album In Case You’re In Love from the same year.

Nash The Slash - Dopes On The Water

Dopes On The Water is a parody cover of the Deep Purple song Smoke On The Water released in 1972. Deep Purple was recording a new album at a studio in Montreux, and visited a Zappa concert at the Casino of Montreux. During the concert someone fired a flare. The casino burned down and caused a lot of smoke above the lake of Geneva. After a dream bass player Roger Glover came up with the title and the band wrote the track as a result of the fire. Smoke On The Water is featured on the album Machine Head, which they recorded from 6th to 21st of December 1971.

Paul Haig - Ghost Rider

Originally written by Alan Vega and Martin Rev who released it on their debut album Suicide from 1977.

Toyah - Echo Beach

Echo Beach was a minor hit for Martha And The Muffins in 1980. Toyah covered the song for her Desire album of 1987 and even released it as a single.

De Blanc - Chariots Of Fire

Chariots Of Fire, written by Vangelis, was the title track for the 1981 movie picture about the British Athletics team who prepared for the 1924 Olympics and originally released as an instrumental. Jon Anderson wrote the vocal lines over a slightly different version for the Demis Roussos version Race To The End of his 1982 album Demis. In 1983 De Blanc blended the the Demis Roussos version with the Vangelis version and created his version of Chariots of Fire.

Frische Farbe - Psycho Killer

Originally written by David Byrne for the Talking Heads album 77 from 1977. It was a major hit in the same year.

Brilliant - It's A Man's Man's Man's World

Sometime prior to October 22, 1964, Clarence Jackson collaborated with Betty Newsome to create the song "It's a Man's World." On or about October 23, 1964, Clamike Music Publishing Co., the purported New York corporation, registered its claim to copyright for "It's a Man's World." At the same time, he and Clamike Music Publishing Co. entered into a songwriter's agreement with Newsome, under which royalties from "It's a Man's World" would be shared equally between Clamike and Newsome. At some point, Newsome hummed the melody of "It's a Man's World" to world-renowned singer James Brown while in a limousine leaving New York City. At that time, Newsome and Brown made some efforts to come up with a new song, and ultimately Brown developed "It's a Man's Man's Man's World," the Song which is the subject of the present action. Brown performed and recorded the Song in 1966, and it became an international hit. Brown assigned his rights in the Song to Dynatone Publishing Co. on April 14, 1966. Dynatone registered the Song for copyright on the same day, crediting Brown as the sole author.

Originally written by David Bowie for the album Hunky Dory from 1971, which became a major hit in 1972.

Yellow Magic Orchestra - Day Tripper

Day Tripper was written and released by The Beatles in 1965 as a b-side of the single We Can Work it Out. Re-released as single a-side in 1966, with We Can Work It Out as b-side.

All You Need Is Love was written by John Lennon and Paul McCartney and released as single in 1967 by The Beatles.

The Newmatics - Tears Of A Clown

Originally written by Henry Cosby, Stevie Wonder and William Robinson jr. Released by Smokey Robinson & The Miracles as a single in 1970. Another great cover version is from The (English) Beat from 1979.

Sting - Need Your Love So Bad

Sting covered the 1972 Fleetwood Mac song for The Original Soundtrack Of The Film 'Party Party' in 1982.

Bruce Foxton - 25 Or 6 To 4

Originally written by keyboard player and singer Robert Lamm of the band Chicago whom released it as a single in 1969. It was the forerunner for the self-titled debut album from 1970.

Nash The Slash - Dopes On The Water

Some awesome covers here Ris....Job well done!

Dave and I had the pleasure of meeting the legendary Nash (Jeff Plewman) at the 25th CFNY Reunion show here in Toronto in 2003 where he performed in his full trademark surgical bandages. Sadly that was the last time we got to see him perform as he passed away in 2014 at the age of 66. For those who didn't know and are interested, check out Nash making a guest appearance for Gary Numan in 1980 and playing the intro for "Me, I Disconnect from you"....Nash was the opening act for that Numan concert! So cool!
