"Crash" by The Human League is being reissued October 4.

I also want to see Kate Bush remastered. Unfortunately, most of the artists on this thread will never see US remasters, but could possible be remastered in the UK, Japan, etc. U2's label would love to remaster their stuff, but U2's contract leaves it up to the band, and the band is always on tour, working on new albums, etc. So, until the band gets around to it, don't hold your breath. (I used to work for their label, so that's how I know).

Prince - again, Warner would love to reissue his stuff, but as everyone knows, Prince had a very public feud with WB over the rights to his catalog. Although, he did praise the label for "letting him do what (he) wanted" at his Rock Hall induction ceremony, so who knows? There were plans for a 20th anniversary edition of "Purple Rain" that never materialized.

Remastering costs $$$, and although most people think that record companies have endless cash flow, it's just not the case. Every release is subjected to a profit & loss review, and if the numbers don't work, a reissue is not going to happen. And as I mentioned regarding U2, sometimes contracts can get in the way. I heard that Rhino wanted to overhaul the entire Cars catalog, but one band member (possibly Elliott Easton) couldn't agree on them so the plans were scrapped.

At least the entire Talking Heads catalog is going to be reissued later this year! All of them will be DualDiscs, which means 5.1 mixes on all!!!

Ooh, this is a great place to voice my disappointment that Blancmange has become "lost in the 80's".

"Happy Families" (82?) was one of those records on which I swear wore out the grooves. It is a personal fave from that era, more fun than Depeche Mode and much more interesting than OMD. At least some of the singles are available on a "best of" CD available on Amazon, but I would like to see their whole catalogue remastered.

If anyone is unfamiliar with Blancmange, check out "Feel Me", "Living on the Ceiling", "Blind Vision", "Don't Tell Me".

I'd like to see Rachel Sweet's 4 albums released on cd. She's done enough soundtrack work that would qualify as bonus tracks. I don't think "truck stop queen" was ever put on any of her albums either. It would be cool to find out if her back up band were the Rumour and the Fingerprintz.

I really want Peter Schilling's "Error in the System" on CD. It was one of my favorite albums of the NW era... I created my own CD from the vinyl recently. The asking price on eBay for them are CRAZY.

Such a great album, and most people only know "Major Tom". But something like this will sadly most likely never be reiussed

Zalasta - I made a CD-R awhile back (from vinyl) of both of Peter Schilling's U.S. releases, "Error In The System" and the one I think is actually a far better album, "Things To Come" (both LP's fit on one CD ... barely). I now need to find it as it's been temporarily misplaced (I know I have it, just don't know where). Granted you can tell it's from vinyl but I cleaned it up pretty well with some good software.

IWantMyMTV - You're right, the reissued "Heartland" sounds great! I got that one relatively cheap from Australia.

What I'd love to see next on iTunes is a branch for rare/obscure albums. Maybe a full CD release of "Error In The System" wouldn't sell enough copies for them to break even ... BUT, how much would it cost to just have mp3's (or in Apple's case, AAC's) for download? Like, next to nothing? It seems like bands are slooooowly starting to issue stuff like that on iTunes but they're still mostly sticking to more well-known artists.

that is awesome. i had a copy of "Things to Come" on cassette ages ago, but i never got into it like I did w/ Error in the System. Perhaps I need to track it down and give it a re-listen.

But yeah, it seems like it would be easy for the labels to dump all of their old, out of print items onto itunes. I know I would love that!

Or maybe I'll join the hub (like I've been vowing to do someday) and make it available to share and enjoy. Things To Come was a little harder-edged but still had that Peter Schilling sound. The first song "Chill Of The Night" was the best song he's ever done IMHO. I'm just a huge fan of his - I even have both the U.S. releases in their German format (only way to have them on CD) as well as a later CD of his called "Geheime Macht" from 1992. Still good, just can't understand a word of it!

that would be fantastic!! great to find another peter schilling fan. in my mind, Error in the System is one of the most underrated of the early 80's new wave albums. It has such a great, unique sound to it. i love the guitars.

surprised that it only had one hit in the US. Was there even a 2nd single released? I assume it would have been The Noah Plan, or Error in the System.

I downloaded a few more recent tracks there were available on his website, but they were all in German, and I didn't really care for them that much. But maybe I should give them another listen.

i would also love to see the FALCO CDs re-issued and remastered. He had quite a few excellent discs.

The original US release of Falco 3 is hard to find, and the import version that is available has different artwork and a different mix of Rock me Amadeus. And I would love to get ahold of a CD copy of the English-language version of "Jeanny", which was released on the b-side of the US "Jeanny" single. It was a very cool track.

Where did you read/hear that this was being reissued? Hopefully, this is a glimmer of things to come. We could use most of their catalogue reissued.
