Sperry / Dr. Martens/Vans etc= 80s Shoes

Postby Shoyrtt » Tue Jun 07, 2005 7:58 am

I remember that back in the 80s, the type and style of shoes you wore sometimes labeled a person (NW, Jock, Preppy, Surfer, Rocker, Goth, etc.)Vote for "your" shoe of the 80s and see if you can link a picture to the thread. If I missed your particular shoe, I will add it to the poll.[:)]

I had topsiders (still have some that I wear occasionally), black penny loafers and high top Converse Chuck Taylor All Stars. Also canvas boat shoes in white or blue. You need to add the Converses and unlock the poll

Is this similar to the "peter pan" boot. The new romantic/Adam Ant look?

Along with my Doc Martens, I also had the black or white chinese kung fu shoes which I wore with my rolled up pants and no socks. They are definitely the worst quality shoes ever made but they looked really New Wavey and cool. Because they were worn wit

I wore a lot of this type of cheap canvas boat shoe back in the day:
<IMG SRC="http://www.geocities.com/cjmratings/stuff/sperry-mens-striper.jpg">

I went through several pairs in white, a couple in blue, and a tan pair.
