The Plastics!

Anyone here have any releases or info from my fave Japanese New Wavers THE PLASTICS? I have their 1st japanese LP and the US 2nd LP -- but I just learned there is a 1997 "live" CD (of a 1980 US show), plus a "live" DVD of a 1980 show to be released next month!?!? If you can imagine the B-52s in Japan with a crude drum machine, you can imagine a little of the Plastics' charm! Any info is welcome![:)]

The Plastics are one of those bands that I've always wanted to check out, but I have never managed to come across any of their stuff. Is anything available other than expensive imports? If so, what's a good starting point?

The first two Japanese LP's (Welcome Plastics and Origato) are worth seeking, albeit expensive and hard to find.

I was disappointed in the UK/US release of Welcome Back (or just Plastics to make it furthermore confusing). I

Strangely enough, I just found the Plastics music video for "Top Secret" (One of their best) on the new DVD box-set release of SCTV (the 80s Canadian comedy show).

There's a new CD/DVD out in July (2005) titled "Hard Copy" -- I don't know if this is r

I've got the first Plastics album in MP3 and my fave on there is
Cards. Love the track, very funky.

I'm more than willing to trade, depends what you can offer to pique my interest. [;)]

I have a Plastics 45 (or is it an EP? I haven't looked at in ages!) I picked up back in the 80's when I saw them open for the B-52's. Then I saw them at Irving Plaza in NYC. Great show!
