Anybody see the new issue of Blender ?(the one with Shakira on the cover...hmmm...kinda like that Shakira)
They trace New Wave past and present in a fold-out feature and conclude with a Top 40 list. The tone of the article is typical of what you would expect from most any U.S. rock mag these days (New Wave was soooo silly..tee hee) and purists will balk at Franz Ferdinand's "Take Me Out" being on the list as well as Billy Joel's "It's Still Rock And Roll To Me" (because it falls under the category of "Faux Wave" I guess). I was happy that Elastica was mentioned in the article and all of you "I did'nt follow music that much in the 90's but I hate the decade anyway" guys should really check out Elastica's 1995 debut disc.Incredible!!
BTW: Gary Numan's "Cars" was #1 and there's also a lengthy review of Gang Of Four's "Entertainment" reissue.
