Lately I’ve been thinking about how much technology has evolved since the 1980s, especially when you compare early personal computers, bulletin board systems (BBS), and the first wave of networked computing with what we have today.

Back in the 80s, systems were simple, slow, and heavily hardware-dependent. You had to physically manage a lot of things that are now fully automated.
