Wilco is the best band I've heard in the last ten years. They constantly strive to do different things and fear nothing. Plus, they are one of the best live bands I've ever seen.

I think some of the stuff I was listening to was still considered outside the norm, compared to what my friends were listening to. I was really into The Kinks, and also liked Ian Hunter and 10cc. I also liked glam bands, such as Bowie and The Sweet.

Ditto on the wonderful geekiness of ELO's "Out of the Blue" packaging. Hey,has anyone noticed the tune "Mr. Blue Sky" being used in a commercial recently, as well as a movie trailer. I COULDN'T BELIEVE it when I first heard it used....
