Clock DVA

What were these guys like? I'm sorry if I keep asking what alot of these bands sound like,but alot of these bands I have never heard any of their material and would just like to know if they were any good that's all. They were nothing like that other New Wave band from 1982 called just Clocks were they? The same group who had a great song called She Looks Alot Like You? What did Clock DVA sound like?

I'm only familiar with the "Advantage" album, and I still find it hard to describe. There is a lot of instrumentation going on, but there are various styles to the songs on the album, which gives it a disjointed feel to me. I recommend the song "Breakdo

Clock DVA's earlier material was similar to Danse Society. The song "Breakdown" is an excellent 12" single. Their later music is nore techno/industrial, although not harsh like later Ministry.

I'd say their earlier material, like Thirst and Advantage, is new-wavey funk with an early-industrial influence (somewhere between A Certain Ratio and Hula, I'd say). It's quite good, and they had some brilliant early singles ("4 Hours" and "Breakdown,"

Agree with thefxc on the fave being "The Connection Machine". Eerie stuff, but very cool.

Breakdown has always been my favorite, the 12" - a must have for the 80s.
