Name That Tune Volume 24

Once again it's time for another edition of the ever popular <B>Name That Tune[/b] game. For this edition of the game, we continue our <I>World Tour[/i] begun with NTT22 (European Edition) and followed by NTT23 (UK Edition). This time we travel across the pond to the USA. All of the artists in this game hail from the USA.

Creating this game was a bit more challenging than I expected. I was surprised to discover that a number of artists who I always assumed were American, actually came from somewhere else (Britain mostly). I always end up learning something while making these games. The majority of songs are from the early half of the era (ie. 1977-1983), but I guess that should be expected. While New Wave may have continued for some years in other parts of the world, here in the USA it was pretty well over by 1985 (if not before). The artists for this edition are a quite diverse bunch. Some were early NW pioneers; others were pretty late arrivals on the scene. Some were international stars; others were hardly known outside their region. I expect many of you will find this game to be pretty challenging, but I wouldn't really be shocked to see some very high scores in the mix as well. I hope everyone enjoys it! [:)]

As usual there are a total of 25 songs clips. As with previous games, all of the tracks are the standard single or album versions, except for the very last song (#25), which is an Extended Remix. The game is on a 100 points basis (2 point for artist, 2 point for title). Partial credit will be given for responses that are "close" to correct. There are 2 seconds of silence between song clips. Download your response form below and email it to me for tabulation when you're finished (my email address is on the form). Make sure to put your forum screen names on your answers, so I know who you are. I will send the Answer Sheet to everyone who sends me their responses (if you don't hear from me within 24 hours, I probably didn't get your email). <B>Don't post your responses here![/b]

I always wanted to play this game and when I finally get the nerve up to try it, [:0] OMG, this is impossible. I know 6 for sure and the rest I have absolutely no clue. Hope I haven't scared anyone off.[:D]

<B>Game Update[/b]

Players seem to be falling into two camps; the people that are doing pretty well and the folks that are having a very hard time. I'm frankly not really surprised by this result. This edition of the game features quite a few minor acts, that while not really obscure, are not household names either.

Currently the average score is 43 points, but so far most scores are either much higher or much lower than that. With only a handfull of responses in, there are already only 4 songs left unidentified (#14, #17, #23, #24). [8D]

Ha Ha -- Motors, I know what you are REALLY laughing at. It is that I ended my sentence with a preposition. Technically, it should read: [b]"An NTT with which I could lay the smackdown."[/b]
But that doesn't sound quite right, does it, now ?!?!?[:p]

Just another quick update...

With a few more entries in, there are now only 2 songs that remain unidentified (#23 and #24). All of the other songs have at least one correct response.

Keep 'em coming. The game ends next Friday.
