Interview - Lyrics

I am a really big fan of the New Wave classic band Interview and I was just wondering if anyone has been able to get ahold of lyrics for the songs on their 'Snakes and Lovers' album?

I find that his accent sometimes makes it difficult to hear what he's saying and I'd love to know. My band and I would like to possibly cover some of the songs, but we can't unless we know the words.

What a surprise!I have both of their albums and its a nice small forgotten secret.Haven't listened to them for a very long time,and its time to check them out.Jeff Stars really had a strange worm voice!

Yes I love Interview - I find Jeff Starr's voice amazing, however sometimes the fact he has a somewhat heavy accent the words don't come out as clearly!

I'd love to be able to perform some of their songs from "Snakes and Lovers" but like I said until I know the exact words I won't be able to. The rest we can figure out by playing around.

I suppose we could jsut make the words up, cause no one would ever know - but the songs are so amazing both in sound and lyrically that to bve able to perform the originals would be great.

Small world. My band covered "Adventurers" a long, loooong time ago. We couldn't really figure out the words either (particularly the first verse, which I was never even sure actually was English), so I pretty much winged it. Everyone in the crowd was drunk anyway. [:D]

We rehearsed "Hide and Seek," too, but I don't think we ever performed it (and I can't remember anything past the chorus at this point). Jeff Starrs does have a website, in case you want to try writing him. I'd certainly like to know what I was attempting to sing!

Funny thing, I've read a review where they were described as sounding too American, whatever that means.

Who else was described as sounding too American in that publication? Madness? Tenpole Tudor?

"Adventurers" and "Hide and Seek" were the two tracks that immediately stood out to me, except I thought the former should have been the single over the latter. Actually, I don't even think there was a single in the States. Virgin U.S. also put it out with an extremely ugly cover and stripped out the title, and basically did everything in their power to send it directly to the cut-out bins.

Actually jsut looking at Jeff Starrs site he has for sale CD copies of both albums with their original album covers. Worth getting if you want to spend 18 Euro on it.. not too bad considering the quality is probably good and they are from Jeff himself.
