Having been a keyboardist for over 20 years now..I can attest to the difficulty learning seemingly "easy" hooks can sometimes be. The list below is a combination of my favorite hooks, and hooks that are recognizable to NW fans within one or two notes:

Heaven 17--Geisha Boys and Temple Girls (especially the intro)

Ultravox--Reap the Wild Wind
Yaz--Walk Away from Love or Situation
Japan--Gentlemen Take Polaroids or Adolescent Sex
Pseudo Echo--Walkaway
Blancmange--Living on the Ceiling

"Enola Gay" is insatiably catchy. I put it as the intro to a movie I'm working on (it's paired with The Cure's "Close To Me").

Berlin's "The Metro" comes to mind as well.

"Here In My Car" is also a contender.

"Always Something There To Remind Me" by Naked Eyes, too.

Which reminds me, "The Sun Alwaysa Shines on T.V." plants the hooks perfectly. It makes the Milk, Inc. cover (BLECK, YUCK) sound like Christina/Britney sh**t.

Also, Human League's "Heart Like A Wheel"--absolutely amazing.

A-ha Take on Me has a good synth hook. But those that said Yaz, I have to agree with. A good Synth Hook would also have to be Berlin-Sex

Absolutely! I'm suprised that it was never replicated in other songs since it's one of dance music's most recognizable syth/opening lines. I assumed no one needs to worry about copyright infrinement. I think "nah, nyah, nyah, nah" must be public domain. (dammit, I wish I had that avatar sticking it's tongue out, waving hands next to it's ears...)
