Well since my first post today didn't exactly set the board on fire...[B)]
Going in the archives I see the veterans here have played the 6 degrees of separation game before. What I propose is a different take on it (with apologies to Blir and Freewave for some liberal plagiarism)
One poster will start with an act and an album. The next poster will connect the first post with a new act and album (AND EXPLAIN THE CONNECTION), and so on, and so on..ad infinitum (or at least for awhile if y'all like this idea)
Additionally after the 2nd post each succeeding post will grade the previous connection (a la Freewave's virtual dancefloor) via the following scale:
[8D]: Extremely obscure (but cool) connection. One only the paragons of NW knowledge (like many on this board) would know.
ex: Band B's Lead Singer's girlfriend also dated guitar player from Band A for a brief period or some such factoid
[:D] Obscure (but good) connection. One most serious NW aficionados would know.
Ex: Person B (knowing for being in Band B) played guest guitar on Band A's album in question.
[:)] Common connection. One you could look up on an album cover sleeve, or is pretty much general knowledge.
Ex: Band B is an offshoot of Band A
[|)]Very Common connection. Band B is the same sub-genre of NW that band A or both were on the same record label.
This is my first shot at an actual "game" so I hope I haven't screwed anything up too much and this is of some interest to y'all
I'll start with an easy one:
Shriekback--Jam Science
Go![:)]
