Favorite 80's Fad?

What's your favorite 80's fad?

http://www.crazyfads.com/80s.htm

I'm gonna go with the boom boxes. Nothing said *cool* more than being the Keeper Of The Sound. Whether you were into heavy metal, rap or NEW WAVE, the boom box spoke volumes to all who were around. Just don't forget your tapes [;)]

Are there any fads missing?

Skinny ties... and I wish I had kept mine.

I'll second video arcade games. That experience was rekindled when I came across emualtors written by clever programmers in the late 1990's, and then M.A.M.E. came along, and life was good again.

neon, definately!
it was a cultural signifier, stating that the drab sixties and brown and orange seventies were over - neon highlighter pens were everywhere!
all those new-wave album covers with day-glo covers, you knew it was something different...

Ha, yeah. I pull that one on my son every now and then - he loves it! He says, "Daddy, what did you say?" laughing hysterically. Then he goes around saying it, cracking himself up.[:o)] My goal in life is to make my kids laugh and man do I get them going.[8D]

How about MTV programming 1981 - 1987. That was the only good time for MTV.
