Only one Oingo Boingo song springs to mind, Dead Mans Party, while the entire DEVO catalog instantly went thru my head.

It really is like comparing apples and oranges as each band had a distinct and un-copied sound.

DEVO.
Oingo was, like, maybe 3 songs (Stay, Wierd Science & Dead Man's Party), While DEVO as mentioned by another poster had dozens & was more influential.
I also dislike the whole idea of picking 1 over another too, They each had their place.

While DEVO must be given credit for being the pioneers that they were (I like them too), Danny Elfman is a musical genius with a voice to match. Both acts were off-beat and had a unique soun

I'll grant that Devo was way more influential, but only three songs?? Maybe only that many made it to your Camaro's dashboard in Secaucus (big big [;)] ) but in La-La Land these were all party classics:

I can definately see the comparisons,but Devo was absolutely more of a classic New Wave band for sure than Oingo Boingo ever were.As much as I like Oingo Boingo too,they just weren't the same.Devo are also more legends in New Wave music,whereas Oingo Boin

Now Danny Elfman and Mark Mothersbaugh have gone Hollywood and make film and TV scores. Is this just a coincidence that Dave picked these two bands? Who else went on to do film and TV scoring?
