Hi,
I am writing a novel set in Seattle's new wave teen dance club scene of 1983-84, and I'd love to hear your stories--what you listened to, what you saw, what you wore! Even if you didn't live in Seattle I would be interested in hearing your recollections of 1983-84.

Beatschool, I'm intrigued! I do remember a few boys in skirts. Do you want to tell me what the skirt looked like and from whom you got it?

do you remember another seattle club called "the monastery". I never went but remember hearing other teens talking about it. If i remember right the semi-mainstream went to Skoochies and the much weirder kids (bat cavers?) went to the Monaste

We listened to KROQ 106.7 FM exclusively unless we were at Zuma beach then we could get 91X (English language broadcast out of Mexico). They both played pretty much the same stuff. Further inland you could not get 91X at all. It was just too far away. [:(
