I have a great best of collection that's called 'The Sound Of Jo Jo Zep & the Falcons', but it's long deleted. It compiles some of their early R&B inspired stuff, but mainly covers the 78-82 era, with some classic new wave singles like;

Anyone else here have entire collections of priceless vinyl or 80's ephemera thrown away by our parents because we either moved out or they wrongly thought it was all kidstuff and worthless?
My Mom was actually pretty cool and never did but my Uncle (of all people!) threw away all my vinyl when I moved out! All my import Transvision Vamp 12" singles and the prize of my collection....an autographed copy of William Shatner's 1977 album "Shatner: Live".
I coulda killed him.

No way you had Shatners album! I have only heard his version of Mr. Tamborene man and lucy in the sky with diamonds. That was classic! I'll never forget that line"AND SHES GONE" going over and over with echo.

I can't blame my mom for getting rid of any of my '80's vinyl, I was the idiot who did that. But I will blame her for throwing away my "Yellow Submarine" lunch box.

Back in the day my mom decided to check out my music and decided that a few of my album's had unsavory messages and so out they went.
I was not told what she did until a few weeks later.

One of the dead soldiers was the soundtrack to "The Decline of W

My sister sold all my vinyl at a garage sale . . . then, to add insult to injury, after my parents divorced, my dad found all my great vintage Jackie-O dresses that I used to go dancing in . . . he thought they were my mom's and threw them out!

*I* was actually the one who sold most of my vinyl collection back in the late 80's & early 90's. I was under the impression that everything I had would be reissued on CD. Boy was I wrong! [:(!]

When you DO find that War picture disc be prepared to shell out between $100-$200 for it!

I've kept all my stuff safe from my parents, but the horror story in my family is when my grandmother decided to throw out all of my uncle's old monster magazines

Neither mom nor dad ever had the chance to toss my old vinyl. And although she has often expressed an exasperated desire to do so, my wife knows she could never withstand the lifetime of WHINING she'd have to put up with if she ever did 'clean out the cl

I actually learned my pack ratting skills from my mom! LOL. So, no, she never did. In fact, she showed up at my house last week with a box of old concert t-shirts she found in a closet. Depeche Mode's 86 Black Celebration tour to New Order's 87 Substa
