Actually The Vandals song IS called "Urban Struggle" - not "I Want To Be A Cowboy"

However, this quiz STILL ruled!

Vandals, DOH! I've been wrong for 20 years?! [:(]

You're still the only right answer and finished with 186! AND you're still El Mas Macho. I thought that was a great song after Urban Cowboy came out.

Thanks to the participants. I thought we'd get mo

I was thinking 4 or 5 of us could create a "Name That Tune" file for MyIrwin. If we each did 20 songs we could test MyIrwin. Anyone interested?

That was a masterfully vexing sample compilation.

You have GOT to be kidding me!!!!

I'll forgive myself D-Day, Slow Children, The Europeans, Vandals, Wide Boy Awake and Soft Cell's "Mug's Game" - - I've just never had the pleasure.

The rest?? Every other #@#$% one of those sits in my record collect

Yes, the goal is to be "eeveeel, as in the fru-its of the deveeel" (name that movie). I think the key definately is to have songs that people have heard but will drive themselves crazy trying to name it.

But moi, take the test? You would ask a director

All in all, I'm very satisfied with my score (95) since I'm pretty sure I've never heard most of the songs I missed. Back in the day, you were so dependant on local radio, friends' collections, and what you were willing to take a chance on in the record

I know what you mean on the Clash tune, Dave - - I spent so many hours sifting through Sandinista when it first came out...all to have it explode in my face on the New Wave Outpost message board...

Well, I finished higher than I thought, so I'm pleased. I certainly don't know the punk and SoCal bands as well as I should, and I know more British acts than I reasonably should expect to.

Anyway, it's a great idea, perhaps when I've finished digit
