What is Retro?
What artists qualify in this category.?
Why I ask---
I wore neon and a checkered tie to my classes, to see my shrink, and to my adademic career interview...
Everyone said I looked retro.. What is it? I know its a type of music...
Just curious

"Retro" is tossed about (perhaps too much and too easily) to refer to pretty much anything, like mare_idol said, "from another generation." Musically, "retro" could be anything that emulates new wave, punk, early 80's hip hop/beat box, 70's glam rock, Phi

Im so glad that people still release this kind of stuff.

A good place to start is of course http://www.amazon.com
If you know one group you like, you can usually find more just by putting that name in the search. It will give you a host of similar groups to check out with samples to listen to. Do a search

As it turns out Agency - X produced a compilation. 5 CDs of new wave/synth pop entitled "State of Synth Pop 2003" and its got all kinds of cool stuff...its like a sampler of Nu-Wave.
