Divinyls

Postby Frnk6794 » Thu Apr 01, 2004 7:58 am

Hey everyone,
Does anybody here like the Divinyls? I think they were one of the best acts of the 80s and so much more than what most people know them for ("I Touch Myself"). Christina Amphlett has a voice like no other. Songs like "Science Fiction," "Pleasure and Pain," "Sleeping Beauty," "Temperamental," "Only You," and "Only Lonely" were the perfect blend of new wave, punk, straightforward rock and pop. Some of the obscure songs, like "Old Radios," "What a Life," and "Girlfriends" are just as great.

I also have a Divinyls Yahoo group if anyone is interested--

I loooove the Divinyls early stuff - "Victoria," "Science Fiction," "Boys in Town," "Good Die Young," etc. I think they were an excellent band and Christina Amphlett had a fantastic frontwoman presence....a bit like a psychotic and deranged schoolgirl wit

I saw her live last January, she appeared with Kate Pierson & The Chanteuse CLub in Joe's Pub & she was phenomenal. I literally gasped out loud when she took to the stage. TIme stood still, she looked amazing. She did 'I'm Jealous' & 'I Touch Myself' with
