What's your favorite Cocteau Twins song??

What's your favorite Cocteau Twins song??

Postby bpdp3 » Wed Jan 28, 2004 7:53 pm

I was really happy to see the Cocteau Twins get mentioned on the 'what you would never sell' thread - -

I'm not an obsessive (don't have every import 10" ep, etc) but I really like this band and would like to hear why others do, too...

I think my favorite is 'Crushed' - first heard that on 4AD's "Lonely is an eyesore" comp. - 'Sugar Hiccup' a very close 2nd.

I cannot narrow it down to 1 song. Victorialand has always been my fave CD. I have great memories of "Carolyn's Fingers" (from Blue Bell Knoll) now that I think of it.

Blimey - that's a hard one but at a push i would go for "Those Eyes, That Mouth" from Loves Easy Tears and "Sultitan Itan" from Tiny Dynamine.

I love the "Lovely Thunder" LP by Harold Budd and "the moon and the melodies" by budd and the cocteua twins http://www.cocteautwins.com/html/history/history11.html.
I love "the ghost has no home" However I do have most of their regular releases as well.

They're not an easy listen sometimes but I liked "Crushed" that was on some compilation a few years ago.

Crushed is a great choice bpdp, but i kinda think each track they have released has its own merits. I like the ambient warmth of the Otherness ep and Five ten fiftyfold a close second.

Musette And Drums, Persephone, Millimillenary, Aikea-Guinea....

Fave Liz Fraser duets:

Toss up between Felt's "Primitive Painters" or "I Am The Crime" by the Wolfgang Press.
