Foetus/Lydia Lunch/Stiv Bators… and a cartoon?

Postby design_femme » Mon Nov 08, 2004 1:01 pm

okay, I call upon the knowledge of you guys: what is the connection between Lydia Lunch, Stiv Bators, and Jim Foetus/Thirlwell/Clint Ruin, etc. All I know (which may be correct or incorrect) is they collaborated with each other at different points, and Lydia and Foetus are/were lovers and even did a soft porn together.

Hadn't thought about Foetus in a while until I saw him REFERENCED in a cartoon on Adult Swim! He does the music for the "Venture Bros." Has anyone of you guys see this yet? I swear I heard one of the characters on Venture Bros. says:

"Oh look, there's pictures of me at Danceteria making out with Stiv Bators and Lydia Lunch."

"what's this picture of you—skinny dipping with Jim Foetus???"

Never thought I'd see the day that Foetus, Lydia Lunch, or Stiv Bators are mentioned on the Cartoon freakin' Network.

I was aware that Mr. Thirlwell was employed to come up with the theme music but I've not yet seen an episode of the Venture Bros. Now I'm gonna have to.

BTW, Foetus' new tune "Not Adam" is rather good

Ja, D.F....the more Foetus On Your Breath the better! Go with E.M.s suggestion of either 'Nail' and 'Hole'.

I interviewed Mr. Thirlwell a few years back at Maxwells in Hoboken. I was nervous as hell for it was my very first face to face interview with

Foetus question:
My copy of "Hole" lists 15 songs on the back but there are actually only 12 tracks on the CD. Missing are tracks taken from two 12 inches (according to the booklet.) Anyone elses like this? Did I get a bum copy? About 30 minutes of m

One of the pressings of Hole (on Self-Immolation/PVC 9905)lists the tracks from the bonus 12" on the CD sleeve, but they do not actually appear on the CD. If you want to hear the original Today I Started Slogging Again, it is on Deaf. The edited version i

I forgot to mention the UK import "Violent Silence/Flesh Volcano" It's a Foetus/Marc Almond collaboration which is a must have. I think it was released in the US as "Slut" with a slightly different tracklisting. Brilliant album!
