Thanks! Bummer about your CD burner, though. I don't think it was designed for the heavy use you give it! [:)]

ok back after prolonged absence--as some of you know my pc crashed--fortunatly very little was lost. However-even though it's up its very tempermental. Burner still out though. However--I still have a batch of "extra" cds I burned a while back and will send out what I've got till I get up and running again. Hopefully I can rememmber who has what already.
And Eggroger--you will still get stuff sent your way!!!

just got the Wolfeman Mix #6 - -- it's excellent!! I've added it to my ipod.

Also i've been listening to Aussies & Kiwis alot lately

And the most recent Marv dance mix.

Wolvy, I have to gush some more about your steamy "male stripper" mix! Love it, love it, love it!!! I totally forgot how much I LOVE Blind Vision from Blancmange--I must listen to it several times a day. Plus, you've turned me on to some amazing artists/songs that I've never heard before. I love the songs by Loveland, Experimental Products (YES!), Advanced Art, The Glove, Modern Rocketry (great cover of Stepping Stone), and Crash Course in Science. BRAVO! Start to finish, from Grace Jones to Donna Summer, a steamy, sweaty, cheeky, and sexy ride! [:p]

I have been listening to Manekineko's Broken Glass quite a bit. I am over the top in love with "Banquet" from Bloc Party. I probably listen to it a few times a day. I like how Broken Glass's songs span a range of years, but tie up together with a nice cohesive mix!

I never hear anything new, so your mixes have opened me up to quite few potential cd purchases!

I also love Club Noir! I especially like the Natacha Atlas song. I'm a big fan of arabic dance music.

I haven't given Papercuts much of a chance yet, but I will! I've been playing them at work where I can really dedicate some time to listening (Ha!)

I spent the whole afternoon Monday listening to NWO discs. FIRST of all, big ups to ZALASTA for starting out his "Five More Minutes" cd with the hidden song following several seconds of silence after Go West, the Pet Shop Boys' genius interpretation of the seventies classic frund on the Very album. Man, how'd you know I was such a PSB fanatic? I know I KNEW that song but could'nt for the life of me remember the name of it. After some maddening searching, I (re)discovered it was because it had no name and was hidden at the end of the Very album. VERY clever! After that, it goes into the grand, orchestral drama that is the Cure's "A Few Hours After This" but the rest of this sonic journey is laid back and cool tempo. You are a very sophisticated music fan, zalasta. Never heard of alot of these songs but they are rich dude. Very well done and I look forward to more of your compilations.

Egg Roger: Another great, great compilation of songs. Every one is a winner, real classics, but these stick out to me:

Wild Swans, God Forbid
Dragon, Rain
Dial M, in This World
Blancmange, Blind Vision (a bit more commercial, but a lovely nevertheless)
Be Bop Deluxe, Darkness

Wolverine: VERY NICE disc. Opening with Grace Jones and closing with Donna Summer. Fucking brilliant. I wish I went to that club you speak of, the one you tried to replicate with this disc. Cuz I would've just moved in every weekend. And never left. I love this whole combination of the more underground side of disco, slightly sleazy and down low, very sexy, with the italo and hi-nrg, some electro goth and clubby synth romance. Very potent combination. Major mood makers:

Material/Nona Hendryx, Busting Out
Man Parrish, Male Stripper
Ice Falling Rain, Life's Illusion
Ian Siam, Talk To Me
Donna Summer, Now I Need You

Now about your Christmas CD, let's just say that I'll be jumping, jiving AND wailing all over the place this Xmas. I really dig the whole swing scene daddy-o and I'll be mixing the martinis to this disc for sure, dude. I'm always the go to guy for holiday music and this will be a nice addition to the collection. VERY happy with this disc too.

It's amazing how different everyone's musical perspectives are in spite of the common New Wave gene we all share. I personally love the variety as I have a very varied music collection myself. Everyone is really into their music and it shows. Rock on people and keep the music flowing!

Wow - I listened to Wolfe-man mixes 3 & 6 today at work. I really love them - especially #6 - every song is great! I didn't skip over any of them. I really appreciate being exposed to newer stuff. I spent a lot of time at allmusic looking up some of the artists on your comps! Unfortunatly I left them at work & everything is so new to me, so I can't reference any particular tracks now - except that snow patrol really stood out for me.

Tomorrow it's Wolfe-man mix 5 & KYYX's disc.

Thank you guys for hooking a brother up!

Thanks Wolverine. Your Stripper cd is fantastic! Love the Razormaid remix of Human League, and you are right about that Donna Summer tune. Fabulous! Love the Christmas cd too...alot of people don't know how good Jackie Gleason was conducting an orchestra, so it was nice to hear a couple of songs from him! Superb job my friend...looking forward to more great mixes from you in the future (hey, what else are you gonna do up there all winter? ha-ha!)[:D]

It's odd to talk about Jackie Gleason on a New Wave site, but I really do love his interpretations of various songs. He always slowed everything waaaaay down & gave it a real dark, chilly sound. I have his entire christmas cd - it's very cool - although I find myself getting depressed after a few songs! I don't think many people realized he had an orchestra & was so different for the times.

There is very little to do up here in the winter - so i'm sure there will be more mixes. I'm thinking about a Power Pop collection, or maybe something mixing Trance with new wave...
