Most "oddball" new wave album you bought

We've all done it. It had a cool cover, someone reccomended, it sounded good when you were in an "altered" state. Now it sounds like noise, makes your lip curl, cats yeowl. You may have convinced yourself you liked it then cause your friends were into it, but now you just can't, it just hurts. What album/CD in your collection is the oddest and you just can't bring yourself to listen ever again?

Big Pig. I think they had maybe ONE song that was played on the radio and was halfway good. But after that, the whole 7 member band of percussionists novelty or whatever the hell their thing was wore really thin and got really annoying. I promptly gave the album away.

Girls Night Out by Karen Lawrence and the Pinz

I bought it for the title song and the adorably kitschy bright pink 1950's style album cover. However, I never grew to like any of the other songs on the album. For years I hung the album cover like artwork on my wall.

C'mon...Barnes & Barnes lay themselves at the alter of ultimate oddity. And remember the first King album? Quite possibly the worst lyrics in NW history! Not only were they pretentious, they made no sense at all--not even in an existential, quasi-poetic kind of way.

The Thompson Twins "The Best of the Thompson Twins"

I like some of their singles, but I can't listen to it as the extended mixes are monotonous and take away from the fact that they were a good singles band. The remixes were incredibly cheesy and filled with cliches'.

As far as overall 80's act, I can't listen to my Glass Tiger cassette ("Thin Red Line") I bought when I was in jr. high. It's so over-the-top in begging for commercial acceptance that I'm just glad it's on cassette since I haven't listened to cassettes in years.

Probably something new, such as The Killers or Diary Of Dreams. There's something lacking now, yet I found substantially good at the time I bought the albums. I cannot think of anything old, as I am fairly careful with older albums and compilations, but if I had to mention one from the time it would be The Outfield's greatest hits compilation.
