Kate Bush Returns with New Album in November

Amy Phillips reports:
Heeeathcliff! It’s me, Kate Bush! I’ve come home! At long last, the mysterious, possibly magical, and probably mental singer-songwriter has emerged from hibernation, and will be unveiling a brand new double album, Aerial, on EMI records on November 7 in Europe and November 8 in America. Her first record since 1993’s The Red Shoes, it will be preceded by the single “King of the Mountain” on October 24. No further info is available right now, other than the knowledge that Bush produced the album herself, but we’ll keep you posted like a mailbox.

But why should I care about Kate Bush, asks you, Mr./Ms. Snarky Hipster? Well, other than the facts that she was often photographed in elaborate headdresses and knee-high boots, collaborated with Prince and pretty much invented Tori Amos, she also wrote some of the craziest, fiercest, scariest, loveliest, most delicate and whimsical music of the past three decades. And she’s been experiencing a renaissance of sorts lately: both the Futureheads and the Decemberists have covered her songs (“Hounds of Love” and “Wuthering Heights”, respectively), and that Gang Gang Dance album sure sounded a bit Bushy. So don’t front. You know you love her.

I wonder if if she's planning on releasing a mainstream targeted single.
Doubt it..

I can't be the only one that doesn't like her at all, can I?

Outside of a couple of tunes on Hounds of Love, I find her pretty unlistenable.

Actually, I don't care for her either. I jut knew that other NWOers would be interested. I find her song "Wow" to be one of the worst I've ever heard, in fact.

Up through the Hounds of Love album, I'd loved Kate Bush. After that, I lost interest. I'm leery about this new album of hers, though: a Sensual World/Red Shoes part two?

If she did The Dreaming or The Hounds of Love part two, then I'm all in.

I know she did a Duets cd. I don't think Prince was on it though.

On The Red Shoes album she and Prince did "Why Should I Love You?"--which was a really good song.

Unfortunately, Sheena Easton had already taken Sugar Walls, so Kate had to do something with Prince from scratch.

Cool video but the song is......well I gotta come right out and say it sucks and this is coming from a huge KB fan. I'm still gonna buy it the day it comes out. Maybe it'll grow on me.
Either my audio/video wasn't lined up for some reason or else Kate is a horrible lip-syncher.

KOTM is #4 on the singles chart in the UK!
Picked up the cd single the other night, It has Sexual Healing (yes, the Marvin Gaye song; Kate Bush needs sexual healing! the mind reels!)as a b-side.

I premiered King Of The Mountain on Medication on October 3rd. A fellow at the station flies home to London once a month and he brought back the cd single with him. (He let me use it during my pledge drive show) I must say I was impressed with the song, and I am no big Kate Bush fan by any means...
