Postby cezza30 » Thu Nov 03, 2005 6:22 am

Does anyone know where I could buy / download a copy of this song? I've been trying very hard to find it and it seems like an impossible task!!

Any help would be greatly appreciated.

Cheers

Love this band!I have both ''Songs of the spires'' and Walk on well lighted streets''.Looking forward for their other releases. No one seems to remember them, except Sparks fans, as Mael brothers had three members of them in their eightees version.Still believe,Gleaming spires wrote the most complexing, weird and symbolic -through a psychological way-lyrics in new wave era.

"Are You Ready For The Sex Girls?" is the only song I recall and that was 'cause I first heard it in Revenge Of The Nerds[8D]

I love that sketched album cover. The one dude looks just like Fox Mulder. But sorry, I'm sure I'm in the 99% of the population with only Sex Girls off a comp. [:(]

Yep, I'd like to find more, but all I have is that song too. Both on Just Can't Get Enough & Rodney On The ROQ. Didn't a member or two of that band spend some time in Devo?

Just picked up a mint Songs of the Spires and their later 1984 Party EP still shrinkwrapped in NYC tonight. I just gotta break down and rip both of these. I haven't owned the former in over 15 years...I'm happy. [:D]

A Christian Girl's Problems was from the Gleaming Spires third album "Walk On Well Lighted Streets" from 1983. You can only find it as a vinyl LP. There is a picture of the album here. http://www.poshboy.com/disco_g.htm

I'm surprised it's not on the "Songs List" here. It's not easy to find and would be a good candidate for the "Made From Vinyl" MFV series. That is if Mike and company has it.

Cezza,
If you want to find the LP you can try searching for the album title instead of the song title.

Would anyone with the mp3 of "Christian Girl's Problems" be willing to send it to my email? It's jtsackett@msn.com

I know an mp3 is floating around out there because I saw a guy with the whole album of "Walk On Well Lighted Streets" in mp3 format on a p2p website.

Thanks, it would be greatly appreciated!!!

By the way, here's a link to the music video of "Christian Girl's Problems" on youtube.com. If you're not registered, just register for free. There are a million rare 80's vids on youtube. You can't download them, but you can save them to a "favorites" page, where you can view them whenever you wish. Here's the link:

It's a little fuzzy, but a rare video and song nonetheless.
